IN RECENT MONTHS, THE GREY-HEADED FLYING-FOXES (LISTED AS A VULNERABLE SPECIES), HAVE BEEN FEEDING NIGHTLY IN SUBURBS AROUND GOODWOOD, PARA HILLS, SALISBURY, WELLAND, WYNN VALE, COLLEGE PARK, DAW PARK, TUSMORE,  GLANDORE, EDWARDSTOWN, BLACK FOREST, PARADISE, CLEARVIEW, ENFIELD, STIRLING, CAMPBELLTOWN, ST AGNES, HORNSBY GULLY, WALKERVILLE, FULLLARTON, UNLEY, ST MARY’S, HILLBANK, WOODVILLE, NORWOOD, HECTORVILLE (MAY 2015) , SEATON (MAY 2015), GLANDORE AGAIN (MAY 2015), RETURNING TO EDWARDSTOWN (2015).   THEIR PERMANENT HOME IS IN THE PINES AT THE BOTANIC PARK-LANDS JUST OUTSIDE OF THE ADELAIDE ZOO ENTRANCE.

PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB THEM!  

THEY ARE FEEDING ON THE DELICIOUS NECTAR AND POLLEN FROM THE BEAUTIFUL FLOWERING EUCALYPTUS SPECIES AROUND ADELAIDE AND OUR SURROUNDING SUBURBS.  IN WINTER, THERE ARE REDUCED FLOWERING EUCALYPTUS AND THEREFORE, OUR FLYING-FOXES MAY BE VERY HUNGRY!
